PGA Champ podcast
Few things are as much fun for web nerds than trying out new technology. Case in point -- the 2005 PGA Championship is now podcasting.
Copy this link, open iTunes 4.9, select "Subscribe to Podcast" from the "Advanced" menu, paste the link, and you'll be subscribed.
What's most interesting about the podcast is that it tells a story by mixing audio commentary of the day's highlights with photos of the players (so you can see who they're talking about), plus embedded links to scorecards, the leaderboard, player index, and of course the general site. Then there is the chapter selector at the top, so the user may skip to the player or story they're most interested in.
I became hooked to podcasts when iTunes 4.9 came out, so to see it being productively used for such a major sporting event (and quite possibly the very first golf tournament podcast) is really exciting for myself and everyone else on the PGA.com team.
Big props to co-worker Timothy Gray who figured it all out and is helping package them up from now until Sunday. Enjoy golf fans.
