The last post about SlideShowPro
This is it folks -- the last post you're likely to read on this site about SlideShowPro for quite a while. I've added a news section to the SlideShowPro site, and will be regularly updating it with tips, general news, and (hopefully sporadic) bug reports. The product has truly taken on a life of its own, and thus doesn't need to be written about on this site anymore.
But before I cut off the lights and return to my usual rants, a few words about the release this past Monday. Leading up to the launch, I had zero clue how well it would be received, if the price-point was right, or (honestly) if anyone would really care. I assumed a handful of people would be interested, and personally predicted that a few copies of the component would be sold the first day. Well, I was completely wrong.
Without getting into specifics, SlideShowPro has thus far been a runaway success beyond my wildest expectations, with users (literally) from every corner of the globe purchasing and downloading the component throughout the day and middle of the night. I've awoken each morning this week to a torrent of email sitting in my Inbox -- everything from pre-sale questions to XML formatting issues and (my favorite) links to Flash movies other people have created using SlideShowPro. It's an exciting, entirely new experience for me, and considering the fact that all traffic has been generated by word-of-mouth or through links from other people's sites, I thank everyone who helped spread the word, and especially those who took a leap-of-faith with a 1.0 product.
So for the latest news about SSP, you know where to go. We now return you to regular programming.
Oh, and, Jay's gonna win.
