OS X Software: More Internet

moreinternet.gifThere was a time, in the pre-OS X days, when selecting a default "helper" appilcation to handle internet protocols was as mere system control panel away. You're allowed to set a default browser or email client in OS X, but as for the myriad of internet protocols -- from "ftp" to "news" to "telnet" and beyond -- there isn't a central resource to assign your own handlers. But thanks to More Internet 1.1, a freeware Preference Pane from Monkeyfood, you can assign any application to any internet protocol you wish. All the major protocols are there, but if you feel like adding your own, you can do that as well. For those making the transition from OS 9, or those power users who prefer selecting their own applications (thank you very much), More Internet is essential.
