iTunes for Windows Launching 10/16
According to News.com, Apple will launch iTunes for Windows one week from today, October 16, at a special media event in San Francisco.
While a lot of people have focused on the iTunes Music Store, the ever-increasingly-crowded digital music marketplace, and Apple's revenue from the new venture, what most Windows people I know will immediately care about is feeling (at long last) the total, integrated experience of using their with iTunes, like OS X users have for quite a while, instead of using a third-party application.
But even those without s will undoubtedly love iTunes' simple, elegant, non-obtrusive interface, lack of annoying ads or marketing junk, and incredibly fast indexing of massive libraries of mp3s. iTunes has become such an integral part of my daily workflow, I couldn't imagine working without it.
It'll be fun next week to see millions of Windows users discovering iTunes, and little bit of the "Mac experience," for the first time.
Apple get ready. Your servers are about to get crushed.
