All I Want For Christmas...
...is?
Comments
First, no offense to those who don't celebrate Christmas. It's just a nice title to lead into what I'm doing here. Remember, HTML formatting is ON, so wrap your stuff in hyperlinks if you can (no target tags necessary). Also, don't add your own paragraph tags - they're added automatically. Okay, I'll start.
1) Subscription to Baseline Magazine.
2) One of these (yes, really)
3) El Gato EyeTV
4) Miniature Airstream Trailer

1) For my mom to be out of the hospital and breathing just fine at home.
2) A sweet, sexy man who loves me.
3) Enough web design jobs to keep me busy the rest of the year.
Posted by: Lauri at November 12, 2002 4:00 PM
Wow, you guys need jobs :-)
I’d like accessories for this. DVD-R media in particular :D
Posted by: Josh at November 12, 2002 4:03 PM
Scott, I do like the zr50mc as well, I'm more familiar with that line. What do you like about that model over the rest?
Posted by: courtney at November 12, 2002 4:33 PM
Well.. I was going to post one of these for fun but reading Marty's, Nat's, Dan's, Shan's, Courtney's, Down's and Lauri's wishes made me think about me (unemployed too) and that there are greater gifts than material goods, may your wishes came true guys/gals.

a new printer
Posted by: Kevin at November 12, 2002 5:09 PM
You should really want one of these. Seriously way better than x-arcade. Also EyeTV is great. I swear by it. But if you get that you also might want this.
Posted by: mike essl at November 12, 2002 5:14 PM
a really nice tv for my room and a gamecube/xbox (i already have a ps2)
and some lifesavers
Posted by: circles at November 12, 2002 8:12 PM
Anything from here would be great.
Oh and a 35mm film scanner and slide scanner, so I can catalog my photographs.
One last thing: I would like that guy from Apple Support to stop talking so loudly while helping me fix my iPod and not be so short with me when I ask questions.
That’s it. I like to keep things simple.
Posted by: Ryan at November 12, 2002 10:13 PM
courtney, i like these mostly because of the great reviews. they have greaet features, from what the page says, and i can get it from amazon for a fairly cheep price. do you have one? what do you think about it?
maybe i should just get money from my mom for it, and save up to buy a 1 ghz :-D i’d obviusly need to get a job first, and i’d need to convince my parents to chip in a bit... myabe i can dip into my college account.. who needs school anyway?? j/k
Posted by: scott at November 12, 2002 10:15 PM
scott,
I have used the zr20s and z440's (had them at the office... when I had a JOB), and I liked 'em a lot. I teeter between wanting the zr's and the optura all the time. I think I could prolly afford a zr-50 in a few months... maybe I can get all my relatives to give me money towards it, heh.
OTOH... I'm having my best wish come true this Christmas... I will be around all my close friends and family for the first time in many years!
Posted by: courtney at November 12, 2002 11:34 PM
definately this
Posted by: Efrain at November 13, 2002 1:02 AM
since it’s a wish list... i’d like the canon 1ds, this scanner and an epson 9600 (sorry no link, seems the epson site is down). oh and a nice g4 to top it all off. wipe my hands clean of film forever. :)

...to be left alone
Posted by: tulse at November 13, 2002 1:41 AM
Airport and card.....So I can watch sports and play on the 'puter.
Posted by: dkr at November 13, 2002 2:59 AM
All things considered, I’d like everyone to get what they have wished for, especially down and laurie.
My family has learned a lot in the past 3 years about material possessions and their relative worth (or lack thereof), so we all think much less about “stuff” and more about each other.
Sappy? Sure. From the heart? You betcha.
Happy Christmas all!

To know that my life will not continue being the day to day drudgery that it currently is.
To have job satisfaction.
To be appreciated.
To have at least 30hrs in a day.
Oh... and some candy.
Posted by: Paul at November 13, 2002 4:17 AM
thanks, courtney. yes, efrain, the huge monitor would be wonderful. i’m operating on an imac which doesn’t work well with hooked in monitors from the port. all i need is one of these and i fixed for life. but, i don’t have that kind of money :( maybe by the time i get to college in 4 years i’ll have enough :)

Echoing Daniel-san:
I’m getting off the consumer carousel this year. I actually don’t want anything other than for my wife’s immigration woes to end and for her to find a job.
But I do have a wish list - consider this viral marketing -
I wish more people would go to their libraries and:
1- Read this.
2 - And this.
3 - And this.
4 - And for good measure, get them to subscribe to this.
5. Lest I forget, this.
And then get out, adbust, culture jam, flatten your corporation with blogs, start a political party, do anything - but do something.
On a lighter note, Dark Cloud 2 for PS2 comes out around my birthday. Woohoo!

A new Titanium PowerBook G4. Oh yeahhhhhhhh.
Posted by: cicada at November 13, 2002 9:59 AM
-that my brain would shut up every once in a while
-to play like billy, to sing like thom
-that singing would drive all my fears away
-that i’d manage to finish this degree in time
-that all of the above would come true.

a name for my online magazine.
Posted by: robert at November 13, 2002 6:28 PM
I respect the concept, AJ Kandy. Might I suggest that in addition to refusing to be a consumer you could give some of your time to one of the many worthwhile causes out there. We started that tradition last year in lieu of gifts and it was a fantastic holiday.
Meals on Wheels, soup kitchens ... anyone will be thrilled to have the help.

1. Winnebego or trailer to pull with my truck.
2. Fresh supply of oil paints/brushes/canvas.
3. Big pile of money, enought to keep me in gas and truck stop dinners for a couple years.
4. And maybe a new Tibook to keep a log of my travels and paintings.
And to make it perfect, I'd stop by Vancouver to pick up a certain special lady to travel with.

One baby that would cure my sore eyes is this insanely great monitor
But then world peace would be great too. And a little more inter-religion understanding, as religion always seem to be the excuse for more of the bad stuff.
Thats not going to keep me from spending my xmas with family and loved ones... Ill be looking foreward to that!
Happy xmas all...

1. all those jobless people to either have jobs, or meet good people to get freelance work from.
2. to move up out of that 1.5 month client bracket to the 3 month client, and a corresponding raise in quoted price
3. to cover everyone in my fam with that gift that lights them up. and fuck the whole reject commercialism at christmas time thing. we need to be forced to think about that perfect thing for those perfect people in our lives.
4. a woman to sleep with, so i can save on the heating bill... well, that might not be the whole line of reasoning there :)
