Watson Updates with Amazon / Google Tools
Karelia Software has released an update to their venerable desktop services application Watson which includes optimization for OS X 10.2 and two new tools for searching / browsing Amazon.com and Google.
The Amazon.com tool, which beautifully ties in to the company's recently launched web services program, is one of the most powerful examples of a web service application done right. Shoppers can blaze through different departments, view images and reviews of the top sellers, and search for specific items with a speed and agility that brings traditional web browsing to its knees. Amazon.com was made for a utility like this.
The Google tool, well, will probably dissapoint, for in order for it to work you have to register with Google and obtain a Google License Key. Not a big deal with developers, but I don't see many consumers rushing over to dig through Google's web site to figure out what to do.
Overall, Watson has once again out-smarted that other app both in speed and function.
