So Long Barr and McKinney

Today is a very good day for the state of Georgia. Last night voters rightfully kicked out of office two supreme nut jobs from both sides of the political aisle - Republican Rep. Bob Barr, the self-righteous, ultra-right wing moralist and Democrat Rep. Cynthia McKinney, who made a fool out of herself for flat-out accusing the Bush administration of covering up knowledge of 9/11, and for asking Saudi Price Alwaleed Bin-Talal to redirect the money earmarked for New York (that Rudy turned down) to her pet social programs.

The race leading up to yesterday was so hot, nasty, and at times bizarre, that every national news outlet regularly carried coverage of the two races. One of the most bizarre moments was two days ago when McKinney's father, Rep. Bill McKinney, said the "J-E-W-S" were responsible for his daughter's problems.

So who won? Republican John Linder and Democrat Denise Majete. Both seem soft-spoken, professional, and committed - which is probably why they brought down the other two blabbermouths.

... and there was much rejoicing.

In a sad election note Charles "champ" Walker gained 33% of democratic vote for the 12th district house seat, leaving Tony Center with 13%. It was widley acknoledged that the father of Charles "champ" Walker, Senator Walker drew up the skewed district to favor his son.

Senator Walker was recently called out for distributing government grants to his own parterners and then making money from them with his various buisnesses.

I personally recieved flyers from the Walker campaign, which were racially targeted and distributed. Which is not an illegal practice in any way, but maybe a slightly predatory one.

Lets hope a recount finds a huge chunk of votes for Mr. Center.
