DJ Shadow, Live
Let's face it: American radio sucks. I'm not just saying this because I once worked for public radio, but with the exception of independently run college / community radio, there isn't a whole lot to listen to. Thanks to the internet however, the good stuff is usually only a stream away.
One of my all time favorite radio shows to listen to online is the urban soul / jazz / hip-hop program World Wide by Gilles Peterson, which you can listen to from overseas, or pick up on KCRW Saturday nights from 10 to midnight.
Gilles gets all the good guests, and a couple of weeks ago he spent an hour, live on the air, with DJ Shadow who arrived with a handful of records to play guest DJ. If you're a fan of Shadow, an MP3 of the whole show is circulating around and is really worth finding. The recording is named "Brownswood Basement."
Since this is a radio show, I assume it's perfectly fine to, er, borrow this from someone.

AudioGalaxy is dead - it just don't know it yet (its a zombie), so where does one go to find good music? WinMX is crap. I guess I should go check out the newsgroups :-)
Any ideas of other good tools to find music?

What bugs me is the increasing number of radio stations that switched to OS X- incompatible RealPlayer to stream their broadcasts. Which I can't understand, being that Darwin - including the QuickTime Streaming Server - is free, cross-platform, and works really well. No more KROQ for me, unfortunately. :/

Don't know about where to find mp3s, but I can point you toward a great public radio station that has both great programing and can be listened to via iTunes. KEXP in Seattle. http://www.kexp.org
Since I found it a couple months, I've often found myself wishing I lived in Seattle because of it (I'm in Chicago). At the least, check out the morning show hosted by John (8 - 12CST).

I hear Soulseek is a good filesharing tool. It does not support proxys so it doesn’t work for me. I found the file on winmx though...
