Michael Greene, Part Two

The venerable music critic for The New York Times, Neil Strauss, has written an article that pretty well debunks the speech Michael Greene gave at the Grammys. [Free registration required] Turns out one of the three students "hired" was a minor, and that Greene's claim of "6,000 downloaded files" wasn't even true.

A fave quote from Ken Waagner, a digital media consultant:

Burning, ripping and sharing is not killing music. Greed, stupidity and ignorance on the part of the policy wonks and further alienating the listener is the real threat to the business, and ultimately the artist's ability to be heard.
