Holiday Hangover

Christmas is great and all, but I sure am glad it only happens once a year. The mounds of mashed potatoes, the turkey, the wine, the garbage, the anxiety, the generational differences, the bows, tape and paper...bah! The past few days have been filled with these holiday "delights," and now is the time to regroup, sleep, and drag my crispy, naked tree down to the curb.

But hey, I got some great books to read, including Jessica Helfand's collection of new media essays and manifestos Screen and Alan Fletcher's The Art of Looking Sideways, which is best described as "the ultimate guide to visual awareness." And yes, they're those special kind of books that relatives just shrug their shoulders at, and say, "you're welcome" in a confused, "hope you like it 'cause I have no idea what it is" manner.

But Christmas didn't stop there. I got enough cash to finally pick up a digital camera, and I'm absolutely dying for it to get here. Lots of wacky cat pictures to come, I'm sure.
